An amazing 36 percent of Chagas cases in the United States have been domestically acquired mostly by children – congenitally. The Washington, D.C. area has been hit with approximately two dozen cases of Chagas. “The disease can remain in the victim’s blood for over 20 years before it manifests its deadly symptoms.”
Chagas disease, caused by the parasite Trypanosoma cruzi, is transmitted by “kissing bugs” that feed on the faces of humans at night, thus the “kissing bugs”, and was once thought limited to Mexico, Central America and South America – this is not so anymore!
Also, if you think Ebola Is bad?, Chagas, the ‘Kissing Bug’ Disease, is much worse and often symptomless.
