CORPUS CHRISTI –
A bed bug infestation has forced the City of Corpus Christi to shut down the Harte Public Library on Waldron Road.
The facility was closed after several upholstered chairs in the building were found to be infested with bed bugs.
The library is off limits to the public and the Flour Bluff School District until the bed bug problem is removed.
The city is working with the health department and a local pest control company to address the problem. The city says the bed bugs do not pose a health risk. They also have no idea how they got there and it’s not known how long the library will remain closed.
