CHRISTIANA, Tenn. — Rutherford County Schools said there was a report of a bed bug found at one of its locations this week.
A spokesperson said the report came in from Christiana Middle School on Wednesday.
“Unfortunately, bed bugs have become a more common issue in the community at-large, and we occasionally have to deal with them at schools,” spokesman James Evans said.
Evans said the schools have a standard protocol in place that calls for an exterminator to come to the school as a precaution. The school district also works with the family in “an attempt to prevent future occurrences.”
